SURE: Smart Urban Resilience Enhancement

SURE will explore how Earth Observation coupled with Digital Twin technologies can create digital replicas of urban environments and address the challenges posed by Urban Heat Islands and Urban Flooding.

Urbanization has brought about numerous challenges for cities worldwide, with two of the most pressing issues being Urban Heat Islands (UHI) and Urban Flooding (UF).

These phenomena pose significant risks to public health, infrastructure, and the environment, necessitating innovative solutions to mitigate their effects. SURE will explore how Earth Observation coupled with Digital Twin technologies can be leveraged to create digital replicas of urban environments and address the challenges posed by Urban Heat Islands and Urban Flooding.

This DTC will provide tools for understanding, simulating, and ultimately mitigating the impacts of these urban phenomena using what-if scenarios to support the decision-making process of new urban plans.
