Earth Observation Lead Digital Twin Components
- Ice Sheets & regional/global impact
DTC Ice Sheets will provide EO-driven insights into critical areas such as Antarctic ice shelf stability, Greenland ice sheet hydrology, mass balance, climatology, and sea-level response in Europe.
- Coastal processes & extremes
Coastal DTC will focus on the development of specific DT components at the land-ocean interface addressing coastal erosion, flooding, and biodiversity.
- Hydrology and hydro-hazards
Digital Twin Earth (DTE) Hydrology Next will provide an end-to-end reconstruction of the hydrological cycle at high resolution in space and time, focusing on floods, landslide prediction, drought monitoring and water resources management
- Agriculture
The EOAgriTwin project aims to create a virtual replica of agricultural systems to monitor crop conditions and production under various stressors.
- Forests
Forest DTC aims to realise a digital replica for forests, maximising the use of Earth observation (EO) data at high spatial resolution.
- Hydrology and hydro-hazards
Hydr’Avatar will use a wide range of EO data and hydrology modeling to represent basin-scale land surface processes and vertical water and energy balance, river network scale flood propagation, and complex 2D physics.
- Agriculture
SaveCrops4EU aims to create a digital representation of cropland ecosystems, with monitoring and prediction capabilities, to enable better implementation of European sustainable agricultural practices.
